X-games, the madness !

Little lama just got back home and is now enjoying a jetlag after killing it at his first X-games US appearance.
First up was the big air competition, 10 riders, best 5 advanced into the finals. Seppe was in the first heat and made it trough with BS 12 and Cab 12 ! In the finals the level went trough the roof on this years massive gap jump !
The spectators witnessed tripple corks being thrown down by both Torstein and Mark. Seppe himself stepped it up as well landing BS 12 and a Cab 14 which got him 5th place in the end !

Slopestyle was up next, Seppe had already qualified himself for the finals the day before in 6th place. In the first ever night session slopestyle 8th of the worlds best riders were to battle it out again !
In the finals the snow got really fast which made it hard for the riders to link all their tricks together and not overshoot the jumps. The pressure was on after Seppe couldn't land his first 2 runs. But in the last run he landed every trick he wanted ! "for sure the best run of my life" was the first thing he said afterwards ! He was hoping for a top 3 spot after this run, but in the end the judges gave him a 5th place ! All in all a good first X-games experience for Seppe getting two 5th place finishes ! We're allready looking forward to next year !

We still have his runs from both slopestyle and big air for you !

Big air men:
1st place: Mark McMorris
2nd place: Torstein Horgmo
3rd place: Seb Toots

Slopestyle Men:
1st place: Mark McMorris
2nd place: Sage Kotsenburg
3rd place: Peetu Piiroinen

X-games coming up!

The last few days we've been posting pictures and reports from an amazing event on our facebook page... the X-games are coming up and our little lama is invited. Stoked!
The setup looks sick and all of the riders are getting mental by seeing the course. Today and yesterday everyone had the chance to ride the slopestyle course and check out the huge gap in between the big air.
As from tomorrow the competition is on!

Here is the schedule for the coming days. Lets hope things stay the same way as there is already some difference between the X-games facebook page and their website.
Normally (we hope) all the competition will be streamed live at this link: espn.go.com

We'll keep you up to date about the event and inform you about any changes in the program.
As for now, here are the finals. For you to watch in a western europe time zone. We'll have to get out of bed early, but it will be worth it!

Saturday:
Big air finals: 6h30 in the morning

Sunday:
Slopestyle finals: 5h in the morning

As for the rest: Bjorn is still shreading Breckenridge, Christophe had a week in Austria and Anthony is having is hands full with exams. Also! Seppe got voted Sports figure of Antwerp for the second year in a row, hell yeah!

Training at X-Games

Seppe has been in Aspen since Saturday.
The first day of testing the jumps, the weather wasn't really good and it so he wasn't able to do much on the jumps yet.
The next day they crew from SPT was doing some finetuning to the course so Seppe went up to shred Snowmass for a day. During the night he was lucky enough to get some fresh powder, so he had a great session!
Today was the first official training day and the slopestyle is pretty good. Tomorrow there will be one more training going on and the first training on the monsterous big air will go down too.
We'll keep you updated on how the trainings have been for Seppe and give you some more info on the schedule!

In the meantime, check out the edit Seppe made from his day in Snowmass:

Seppe in Breck

For the past 2 weeks Seppe has been snowboarding in Breckenridge Colorado.
He flew out there right after finishing the Oneill Evolution in Davos to shred the park and try and learn some new tricks for the upcoming contests.Unfortunately he wasn't really lucky with the weather during the time he was there. The first couple of days it was incredibly cold, but the conditions were good.
In the second week though, the weather turned pretty bad. There was a lot of wind every day and clouds all day long. So unfortunately he hasn't been able to hit the jumps on the big line a lot after all.
All in all it was a fun trip with a some good park shredding and a bit of powder riding too.

Next up on his schedule is the X-Games in Aspen of which we'll keep you updated as much as possible.

In the meantime check out the short video Seppe put together from some GoPro shots that he filmed in Breckenridge.

Pow alert !! Avoriaz report

Hell yeah !

Those of you who were in the mountains last week know what we're talking about!
Insane conditions.
Remember 4 weeks ago when everyone was waiting for the first snow to fall !?
Powder runs, lifts snowed in, 100 times the same picture of an alleged road to St Anton - do they drive left in Austria !? - and much more stuff on the internet makes you wanna head of to the mountains and shred !

Christophe was in Avoriaz last week and he had a blast !
He claims it being the best week ever in the mountains. The first day he arrived with heavy snowfall and a flat tire. After that things got even worse with rain on the second day, going into snow in the evening.
The next day he and his friends got blessed with blue bird conditions! After that: 5 days powder in a row, boohjah !!

He and Simon, his brother in law and Lama-friend, managed to make some go-pro footage.
As it was constantly snowing, and the battery suffered from the cold, images aren't the best quality and they missed out a lot of sick run's.

But we bet things start itching and you wanna be on your board asap !

We're looking forward to the rest of the season, things started of great !

Seppe is in Breck for the moment and Bjorn just boarded a plane today to join the crew. Anthony and Tim stay in Belgium to study for the exams.

Christophe is back into teaching this week and heads of to Austria next week, the bastard !

Seppe takes third place in Davos

The O'Neill Evolution is over and it was a success for our little lama.

Tons of people joined us in watching the live-stream yesterday and saw a close battle between Eric, Mark and Seppe. In the end Mark took first spot, only scoring 0.30 points more than Erik. Seppe, putting down his first cab14 in a non - Air&Style event, claimed third place.

After this event Seppe is qualified for the World Championships in Oslo next month. Also he jumps into 5th position in the TTR Big Air ranking. He remains 5th in the overall ranking.

A good way to start the new year, fresh powder, big tricks and a good contest podium ! Let's see what the rest of 2012 brings !
