lama's are off to Hintertux

Seppe, Bjorn and Anthony are leaving for Hintertux in a couple of hours for this years hot-zone park opening ! Austria has had a big dump of snow last week and the park crew has been working hard so it's promising to be a good one again. Free board tests, contests, afterparties and a lot of fun shredding in the park !
On Saturdaynight the Argon Films' new movie 'Euphoria' is pemiering as well with a lot of hot-zone riders killing it ! You can download it for free afterwards !

Seppe will be staying 2 more weeks after the opening to get ready for the upcoming season and Bjorn will be there another week as well.. So expect some good movies en shots from the lama crew enjoying the Hintertux park !

Freestyle.ch final results

 After getting 2nd place in the Semi finals at the 2011 freestyle.ch the finals were this evening. Seppe was feeling good after his runs and was ready for the final battle !
All of the riders had some trouble putting their tricks down, and since they only had 2 runs the pressure was on. Seppe sat down with his first cab 12 and wanted to go for it again.

But summer was around in Zurich as well, he caught his edge in the slushy take off but still managed to land a cab 10 putting him in first place. Only Halldor was left with 1 run where he stomped a solid FS double cork 10 ! So without a doubt this years winner. Seppe got 2nd place in his first ever freestyle.ch and Stale Sandbech rounded out the podium.

 This weekend we have the Freestyle.ch taking place again in Zurich. After travelling around with the Burton Standing sideways premiere tour Seppe will be competing here as well ! His first contest back in Europa after spending a month in NZ will be a heavy one, with bangers like Seb Touts, Mark McMorris, Halldor and many more ! Check out the program with all the snow, skate, ski and FMX action and make sure you watch the live stream !
We will keep you up to date as well how Seppe is getting on in the contest, so expect more news from the lama's soon !

If you haven't had enough snowboard action yet, next week Tuesday the snowboard movie "Twelve" will be premiering in Antwerp, in the Fakkeltheater. We will be there as well to see bangers from all the pro's, so don't miss it !

Standing Sideways premiere

 This Saturday we had the premiere from the new Burton movie "Standing Sideways" close to Antwerp ! After seeing all the trailers they had released, and knowing it would be the first time for Seppe to appear in the movie we were all super motivated to see it.
There wasn't a really big crowd when we got there but everyone there was anxious to see the movie and enjoy the afterparty with the international pro's !

Just before the movie they introduced the pro's (Mikkel Bang, Mark Sollors, Mikey Rencz, Danny Davis) and as a special surprise burton and Red bull had designed a unique gift for Seppe ! A bull in the colors of the Belgian flag to congratulate him on his sick riding ! The movie itself was a banger as well with every kind of snowboarding imaginable, so much fun to watch ! Make sure you get to see it at 1 of the next stops !
We finished the night with a sweet afterparty with the lama and burton crew having a few beers and walking home sideways afterwards !

New Zealand "over and out"

 We are back home after spending more than a month on the other side of the world !

The last 10 days the 2 lama's had the house for themselves and spring had arrived in NZ. Haha they even found some new friends near snowpark to keep them company, 4 lama's loving snowpark NZ !

 Seppe and Anthony had 5 more days of good weather in the end, but the slushy conditions didn't make it easy to ride. Luckely the crew from snowpark salted the kickers well so they were still able to get some good runs going.
Unfortunately Anthony had a bad slam on the last kicker and hurt his back which kept him from hitting the big jumps the last week. But this didn't keep him from having fun on the mountain, learning new handplants on the big quarter pipe, improving his rail riding and enjoying the late season slush.

 Seppe on the other hand was still killing it like always. The park crew had added more pop in the last kicker which gave it way more airtime ! Happy little lama pulled out nearly every trick he knew and when it got too slushy he went for the style tricks.

3 night a week there's the possibility to do night riding in Snowpark as well. After a bad weather day Anthony and Seppe drove up at 6 in the evening to check this out as well ! Night riding is only on the railline but so much fun, a lot of people shredding and enjoying the great NZ sunset in the park.

 The last 5 days the forecast was looking realy bad so the call was made to go on a roadtrip. This year's trip was a big one, they decided to go to Stewart Island which is south of the NZ mainland.
Only 200 people live on the island which is surprisingly big, so a lot of untouched nature, probably the most insane in the world ! 5am wake-up in Wanaka, 3.5h drive to the most southern point of the south island, 1h ferry and 2 days on the island.

The first day they walked around and took another small boat to Ulva island (another small, but deserted island near Stewart island). They saw nearly every kind of bird but no Kiwi. Bummer ! The 2nd day they rented a scooter and drove around on the island to check out different beaches in search for more penguins or kiwi's.. A lot of beautiful nature and in the end a seal as well ! Such a great trip ! A sick sunset to finish the day off and then the long flight back to Belgium.
