O'Neill Big Air Battle

Two weeks ago Christophe was present @ the Big Air Battle in Snowplanet, Holland. He was there to judge a Big Air competition held between Belgium and Holland.

The shaping crew of Snowplanet shaped a clean kicker and finished the setup by putting down a kinked rail and down rail at the bottom. The competition started with a qualification in jam session style. Afterwords the competition evolved different. Each Belgian rider had to step up against a Dutch rider in a sick head to head format ! Every rider had 2 chances to show his best on the kicker. The 2 rails counted as a best trick combination to win a brand new Go-Pro !

Holland took the victory in the kids and woman disciplines. Belgium equalled the score by claiming the trophy with Sebbe De Buck in the junior competition and David Vanden Boer in the senior section of this battle of the lowlands. 2-2 was the score in the end of the day !

Everyone had a nice day of riding and we finished things of by drinking some nasty Heineken beers ! Really, Heineken is a Lama NO-GO !

A big up to the organization for putting down this competition and a warm welcome too for others to organize more battles between countries !!

Results:
Ladies: Eveline van den Berg (NL)
Kids: Ziggy van Bouwhorst (NL)
Junior: Sebbe de Buck (B)
Senior: David Vandenboer (B)
Best trick: Aston Egelmeers (NL)

late season in Hintertux with Bjorn

Last week Bjorn went to Hintertux where he had a meeting with Nitro for next season.

While he was there he also went for a couple of laps on the Hintertux glacier !
Now you have the summerpark up there which is already looking pretty sick..
Bjorn couldn't ride much because he's still recovering from his knee injury but he had some fun on the rail line !

He put a couple of shots together, check it out !

quiksilver teamtrip

While Seppe was out riding in Mammoth, Anthony was starting to study for his exams. Except for 1 party !
Last weekend Quiksilver organised a teamtrip for all their Belgian and Dutch riders (snow, surf and skate) so they could all get to know each other.
Saturday afternoon they all gathered in Amsterdam to discover the city and just walk around in the good weather.

In the evening we all ate at an Indonesian restaurant and then it was time for the real highlight of the trip: The famous "Matjesdisco" !
This is a huge party where you can only enter when you're dressed as weird and funky as possible.. Everyone totaly went for it so we were ready to party !

It was sick, not a single person dressed like they would on any other party, and after a few beers we were all partying like there was no tomorrow.. Such a good party with the whole crew !

Thanks to all the guys at Quiksilver for making this trip happen ! It's one to remember for a long time !

Sunday gathering ...

Hi all !

Here's a quick update on how things are evolving with the Lama crew!

Seppe is enjoying his last days in Mammoth with the Burton crew, Bjorn is off to Hintertux with Nitro and the rest of the crew is chilling in Belgium.

Today Anthony, Tim and Christophe went to the JESPO "Zapperdag".

Jespo is an organization which organizes a lot of different sports and camps for children! Our small Lama invests a lot of time in this organization, but as he is in the US for the time being, the rest of the crew took over his job. It was a fun afternoon teaching the kids how to ride a board and give them the heads up about snowboarding.
We saw a bunch of them having the right feeling on a board! Thumbs up.

Afterwards we all gathered at Christophe's place to enjoy a meal.
We had a small meeting there, discussing on how we're gonna set up our online store, plans for next season, plans for our wakeboard vacation and so on!

More info soon.

Cheerz and keep up the Lama !

Bad weather in Mammoth

Mammoth has not granted our little lama and the rest of the Burton crew with good weather. Since the last day shredding with Wouter, Maarten & Rik there hasn't been any day of shootable weather. It's so weird, they've had more than 50cm of fresh snow in the last week and whenever it was sunny it was way too windy to hit the big features Burton built.
So instead of sick snowboard photo's and a report of what's happened the last days, here are some photo's of last days.
They went to a hot spring, but seriously too many dudes in there, some dude who crashed his hummer with 5 kids in the back (idiot). And a friendly gathering in one of the appartments.
Tomorrow the weather is supposed to be good, so fingers crossed that a session on the big jump is gonna go down!

Seppe in Mammoth

For the past 5 days Seppe has been in Mammoth in California.
The shredding crew he was with was Wouter as a fellow rider, Maarten as coach and trainer and Rik to capture all the tricks on camera.
It's been an amazing trip so far. A lot of fun shredding, good tricks and big American food!

The first 2 days were super bad weather, but from the 3rd day it has been sunny the whole time. Every morning they woke up and had an amazing view from the balcony of the room.
The jumps were great. Not super big but just the right size to have a safe session!
Wouter was throwing down some sick FS and BS 9's.
Seppe was feeling it too and was able to throw down pretty much every trick he can do. He even learned a Switch backflip!

Right now Wouter, Maarten and Rik are on their way back home. Seppe is still staying for more than a week to shoot with Burton.
Today they tried out the money booter jump. With a bit of adjustments it's gonna be one of the best jumps ever!
Burton a built a ton of different stuff so it's gonna be a lot of insane shredding coming up!
Unfortunately all of this is confidential, so no pictures will be dropping of this...

We'll keep you updated on some of the sessions!
