Belgian Champs 2011 Wrap-up

 After the slopestyle and the boardercross we still had the Big Air and half pipe contest left..

on Wednesday we had perfect weather again and the big air was on ! The jump was less big than last year, but still really good airtime for big tricks.

 The level was sick again, everyone was throwing down 7's and 9's on the big kicker..
In the finals Seppe landed his famous Cab 12 and BS 12 which got him the top spot again ! Anthony got 2nd with a Cab 10 and Bastien Destiné rounded out the podium with his insane triple frontflip..

 On Thursday they had planned the half pipe competition, but it got cancelled. It had been too warm the last couple of days and there wasn't enough snow left to shape the pipe.

Instead we had a free session on the big air the next day.. 3 hours of shredding and shooting with bunch of friends !

After this session there was the overall pricegiving.. Here they don't make a difference between ages to find the best Belgian snowboarder !
Seppe won this by taking both slopestyle and big air, Sebbe de Buck got 2nd and Anthony finished in 3rd in the overall..

That night we all went partying to finish off the week, it was sick again !

Belgian champs are on !

 All the lama's are now together riding at the Belgian Championships in Les 2 alpes in France.
Bjorn, unfortunately, is injured and cannot compete, get well soon buddy !
Christophe is working at the Belgian champs, judging, starting the riders, putting up banners.. All kinds of stuff, and Seppe and Anthony are both competing.


Monday they had the boardercross, the first contest. Seppe and Anthony did 1 normal quali run and the 2nd run in switch as a challenge for theirselves. Both times were pretty close, so sick !
They both made it to the finals were they had to face Robke and Jelle. In ended up being an outrageous battle with Anthony taking home the gold, Seppe took silver and 3rd place was for Jelle.

Tuesday was the slopestyle. first a downrail, then 3 kickers and another jib feature to finish the run.
During qualifications everyone was landing some good runs untill Raf Van Damme had a bad crash, he was taken away with the helicopter.. Hope you get better soon, we wish you all the best !


During the finals seppe went all the way on the small jumps and stomped a run consisting of a BS 9 and a Cab 10, this got him first place. 2nd was for Wouter de Lange and David van den Boer claimed the 3rd spot. Anthony ended up in 4th place due to a handdrag on the last kicker.

We have a small video from a run in the boardercross for you, it was just Anthony's training run before the contest.. We're still working on the edit from the slopestyle, but for now this is it from the Belgian champs !

Burton setup Sun Valley

 It's the time of the year that Burton starts building some crazy setups for their riders to film and shoot for next years movie.
This year Seppe got invited to join some of those shoots.
The first shoot is happening right now in Sun Valley in the States. The setup is just crazy! 2 Massive jumps and a hip feature.

The crew is sick as well: Peetu, Grilo, Charles Reid, Kazuhiro Kokubo and our own little lama.
Yesterday was the first day of shooting and it already went down like crazy. Kazu did a massive BS 180 and Charles was chucking FS 14.
Seppe was able to land a BS 12 and Cab 12 over the beasty kicker.

Today unfortunately the weather has turned bad, so no insane session...
We'll keep you updated with the latest info of the shoot!

T-shirt have arrived !

Aight ! Today our t-shirts arrived. Stoked !

As we said before, the shirts will be for sale at the upcoming Belgian Open !

We're selling them @ €15 a shirt.

Be fast, as we only have a limited amount for sale.




Normally we arrive Saturday. As from Sunday we'll be selling them at the riders-meeting, each evening.


If possible we start the sale Saturday at arrival day...

Shooting for Taste in Norway

 Seppe and Anthony are now shooting in Norway with Michiel Rotgans for Taste (for those that don't know, it's a Dutch snowboard magazine).

On Monday they left for Alesund and stayed the first night there.. That evening they got a small tour around the city and had an insanely good dinner!

 The next day we drove to Stranda for our first day of shooting.. The weather wasn't really good and it was super warm but after a couple of runs we had some ideas to start shooting !

 The next couple of days the weather stayed the same and we had a lot of rain, but thanks to this we started looking for more "artsy" stuff to do !

On Thursday we got some fresh snow ! It was not fluffy powder but since we haven't been riding that much powder it was an epic day for us !
We were doing tree runs and making slashes the whole day,so much fun !

We had the gopro up the mountain with us and made a small edit from the powder madness ! hope you enjoy it !

We can't realy tell you any more of the details of what we're doing here because it has to be a surprise for the story in the magazine !

Quiksilver spring battle part 2

 On Friday the finals of the Quiksilver spring battle in Flachau were going down !
When Seppe and Anthony got up the mountain it was still raining and the weather was realy bad.. The organisers decided to wait for it to clear a little bit before starting the contest, so we both went to the restaurant to have a hot chocolate !

 In the Restaurant we tried to entertain ourselfs a little bit and at 12 we went up again to check how the weather was.

Seppe did a check run on the kicker and it was clearing up a little bit, just a little bit of wind left and no more rain..
So training for the finals was on ! At 1.30 they started the finals, 3 runs for each rider.. The level was sick, everyone was putting down 10's and different double flips !
Seppe was able to land cab 12 to BS 10, and this was the run he chose for the judging..
The concept they had was 'video judging', a first time at a snowboard contest ! All the runs were filmed from different angles and the riders chose their best run. This run was then shown at the party in the evening where the judges would score it and announce the winner !

In the evening all the riders went to the party to get the results from the finals.. It was so sick to be able to see all the runs in slow-motion, that way it's much easier to understand the judging ! A realy good concept for the future !

Seppe was the last rider of the night to be judged, so it was exciting untill the end ! But his run payed off, first place for him ! His 1st TTR win ever !!
2nd place was for Marco Grilc with a BS 10 double cork and a double backflip and Ville Paumola got 3rd !

Then it was party time !! For sure 1 of the sickest snowboardparties in history.. Be there next year to know those stories !


Anthony didn't make it to the finals, but he got a 14th place in the end !

Belgian Champs lama planning

The whole crew sat together today to discuss the upcoming Belgian championships in Les 2 alpes. The T-shirts will be ready, we will sell them for €15 and we will have them in different colors !
They're being printed as we speak so the design will be a surprise for all of you !
Thursday night we want to organise a lama night in le Monde (you should probably know the bar by then), so we kindly ask all lama's out there to wear the T-shirts so we have a colorfull party !


We will also be having a small lama contest..
The concept will be: The rider putting down the best Japan air will get the lama price ! You can do it in a backflip, straight air, other spinns..
So everyone start training their Japan airs and show your lama love for all the people in Japan ! We will be announcing when the contest will be at the ridersmeeting.
