Quiksilver spring battle part 1

Seppe and Anthony are now at the Quiksilver Spring Battle in Flachauwinkel ! For them it's already the 5th time that they are doing this contest. It's just such a sick and fun event to end the TTR season and  start the spring sessions !

The set-up was sick again like every year, first a big kicker at the top of the course and at the bottom there's a choice between another kicker, the big wallride and a 'skate' set-up.

Yesterday was the training day, it was nice and sunny, some slush and a lot of motivated riders ! Everyone was enjoying the spring riding and having an easy session trying to get the feeling for the kickers.
For Anthony and Seppe it was the first time since Oneill evolution that they were riding together again, so good to have an easy session after a big season.

Today the quali's and semi finals went down. Seppe is invited for the finals so he was snaking training the whole day together with Anthony who had to ride the qualifications.
Already in training things got more serious when the first double corks were pulled.
Anthony himself stomped the run he wanted, which included a cab 9 on top and a BS 7 on the bottom kicker which got him through to the semi finals.
Here they threw in 10 invited riders who pushed the level up even more !

A lot of double cork were shown and Anthony stomped his same run as in qualifiers. Unfortunately this wasn't enough to get him into the finals, but he was super stoked on the session nevertheless !

Tomorrow the finals are going down with the best 8 riders from the semi finals and to top it off they're throwing in Grilo and Seppe as well ! It's gonna be sick !

Both lama's have been filming the shredding from the last 2 days with the go pro, make sure to check out their video !

Busy times are coming up !

Hi all

A quick round up of what the Lama's are doing and are about to do.

Seppe is back home for a couple of days. Yesterday the mayor of his home town West-Malle honored Seppe for becoming World Champion!

Anthony is still shredding in Scandinavia. We saw some pictures already, it looks sick. Unfortunately you'll have to wait to see the footage until the magazine's and website bring their report about the trip. Stay tuned !

Bjorn is still suffering some knee damage. In a couple of days we'll have some more news about his recovery, let's hope for the best.

Christophe is working on a magazine for the Belgian Open and heads off to Avoriaz on the end of the week.

Also we're working on some new stickers. All of our old one's are gone, so it's time for something new. Our objective is to be able to give them to you on the Belgian Open.
Normally today we'll make some serious decisions about our t-shirt. We've been working very close with Narley , a guy we met during our surf vacation last year. We're looking forward to be wearing those shirts ! You can buy them asap online or at the Belgian Open.

Make sure you take a look on our FB page. We posted a message in order to know how many t-shirts we should order: hit the like button in that message!

All of the info about the Belgian Open and Snowjam on their website. Be there !!

Thats it for now. To round things off we still owe you the footage from the slopestyle finals @ the European X-Games. Thx Nathan!

Vans Teamweek 2011

2 week ago Anthony and Bjorn went to the Vans teamtrip in Montafon together with Yannick Sleeckx and Cees Wille ! Unfortunately Steve Krijgbolder who is also riding for Vans couldn’t be there because of an injury, hope you get better soon Steve !
Sunday we left together with Bavo Swijgers the photographer and David Doom who were gonna film the whole madness. Dominique devreese, our teammanager, was already there !

It was supposed to be blue bird for the whole week so on Monday we all went up the mountain super motivated to find some fresh powder !

The first thing we found was a cliff drop from about 4m high, it was good for Anthony to start riding in the backcountry after all those years in the funparks. After this we went to a backcountry kicker that some other Belgian riders had been building ! It wasn’t totally finished yet so we all got to work, in the end it took us about 3 days of building to get it done but the result was sick.

The days in between we went up to a small park in Gargellen where they left the kicker for us to shoot on it.. It wasn’t super big but a lot of fun to ride in perfect weather, everyone got some good shots of it in the morning so in the afternoon we went back to Silvretta to finish our backcountry kicker. The next day we hit it !
It was a step-up about 16m far, but we didn’t built the kicker high enough, so we couldn’t make it over as far as we wanted..
But it was still a fun session, my first backcountry kicker ever !

The last day of the trip we went to a small mountain area with is mainly for ski tours behind snowcats, but it’s in the middle of nowhere ! you take 1 lift and then you’re in a small bus driving through tunnel for 30 minutes, you eventually end up at a big dam where we started shooting some small backcountry drop of which Anthony landed his front 3.. the plan was to wallride the dam but it’s was too rough !

But so sick up there in there mountains, that night we went out for a drink and that was the Vans teamweek for this year !

So much fun that week, thanks to everyone for making it happen and all the guys at Vans !

Euro X Games are finished!

Yo lama followers,

Today it was the first nice day at Euro X.
Both slopestyle finals and halfpipe finals for snowboard went down. And damn, the level was high! No one expexted the level in slopestyle to still be this high, but yeah, I guess that's why they call it the X-Games...
Our own little lama was able to lay down a nice run. He started of with a cab 270 gap on the flat-down box, to a switch BS 9, then FS board pretzel on the down rail, switch boardslide through the flatrail-gap-to-down rail and ending with a BS 12 to Cab 10 combo on the last 2 jumps.
He eventually ended up in 5th place, just behind Mark Mcmorris.

The podium for slopestyle had Eric Willet in 3rd, Seb Toots in 2nd and Chas Guldemond going home with the win! He nailed a combo of double BS rodeo, Cab 12 double and BS 10 on the jumps.
Congratz to all of those guys, they killed it!

In the pipe it was a battle between Iouri Podlatchikov and Louie Vito. They both threw down 3 double corks in their run. Eventually it was Louie who went home with the gold medal nailing FS double cork 9, Michealchuck, FS double cork 10, Cab double cork 10 and a FS 10. Iouri got second place with in his run a BS double cork 12 and a Cab double cork 10. Christian Haller ended up in 3rd place!
Congratz guys!

Next week Anthony will still be exploring Scandinavia and shooting like crazy.
Seppe will be chilling at home for a couple of days to get ready for some gnarly shoots as well!

That's it, That's all!

EDIT

We still owe you some footage from day 3 at the X-Games. Njoy

Second day at the European X - games !

No slopestyle quali's today in Tignes due to the bad weather.
Tomorrow everyone advances to the finals, 2 run's each, best one counts.
All the riders had some trouble with their speed and sticky snow.
Lets hope things work out fine tomorrow !

In the mean while check out the edit Nathan Polis made about Seppe's second day in Tignes

We're still alive !

Hey guys

Sorry we haven't been around that much this week. All of the Lama's have had some busy times and internet connection problems. Christophe was exploring the Dolomites this week, Anthony has been traveling around Switzerland and Austria, Seppe was training in the US and riding the US Open and Bjorn has been all over the place...

We'll try to make things up this week. But hell, things tempt to be difficult again. Seppe is off to Tignes for the European winter X-games .

Anthony is off to Scandinavia for some shooting, Bjorn is back at home suffering some knee damage (heads up Lama !) and Christophe is working on the Belgian Open the second week of Easter in Les Deux Alpes.

As for now we can announce that Seppe will end this TTR World Tour season as third behind Peetu and Iouri. So stoked !

We can't wait what next season will bring.

Check out this summary of this TTR season!!

So, as we said before. Keep an eye on our blog in the next couple of days. We'll try to give you some reports of last week and keep you up to date with all the Lama news from around the world !!

Keep up the spirit, dedication, riding, Love and Lama
